Brighton and Hove Triathlon returns bigger for 2017
Following the success of Brighton’s inaugural closed road triathlon in September, entries are now open for the 2017 race taking place on Sunday 17th September next year. Next year’s race will double in capacity and also introduce youth and junior racing.
The closed road Brighton and Hove Triathlon which took place in September had over 1,000 entrants and saw spectators in their thousands show their support along Brighton seafront for the first time event. The event saw many athletes gain personal best’s on the fast and flat traffic free course and the triathlon received a multitude of positive feedback from competitors;
“Amazing day and well organised! My first Tri and I’ll definitely be doing it again next year!”
“Thanks to organisers, TOs and marshals for a great event - superb racing at an amazing venue. The draft legal format made it really special”
“I didn't take part in the race but enjoyed spectating. Really good support in place and lots for a family to do while waiting for the people they're supporting to pass by. Great opportunity for next generation triathletes to become inspired!”
“British triathlon back where it belongs, in the hands of a John Lunt posse”
“I'd like to say a massive thank you to the Brighton and Hove Triathlon team for putting on such a great event, well done. The volunteers did you proud, they had smiley faces for you when you didn't and encouragement all the way”
Next year’s race is opened up to 2,000 competitors and offers Olympic, Sprint (incl. Draft legal), and Super Sprint distances. Organisers have also opened entries to youth and junior racing. The free Sport and Fitness Show running alongside the race hosted 70 exhibitors and will return bigger for 2017 with more interactive sport activities for all the family.
