Roses are red, violets are blue
Your valentine loves triathlon, as much as (if not more than) you
I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it’s better that you have a heads up so you are able to use this knowledge to your advantage.
As Valentine’s Day looms on us all, young and old love is blooming across the UK. The 14th February is a chance to remind your partner how much you love them or to bite the bullet and confess your undying love to your crush.
Of course you could opt for the classics; flowers, an over-glittered card, chocolates, champagne… but why not treat your beau to something thoughtful, that will score you mega brownie points?
Here are 5 Valentine Gift ideas for the Triathlete in your life:
A Romantic Meal for Two
(aka a Post Workout Brunch)
Show your support by encouraging your partner to head out for that early-morning session and then surprise them with a delicious slap-up brunch on their return. Triathletes are always hungry, so this is a winner. Make sure to include their favourites, accounting for enough protein and carbohydrate for recovery.

A Steamy Bath
(aka recovery soak)
A hot bath is a great way to aid recovering muscles, especially with the current cold weather. Treat your Valentine to some new skincare for the full ‘Spa at Home’ treatment. Sebamed have a fantastic range specifically for health & fitness, which will leave them feeling soft and hydrated.

(aka Race ID bracelet)
Nothing says “I love you” like becoming someone’s emergency contact. Show your Valentine your care about them and their safety with a Road ID bracelet. You can choose from a range of cool colours, for a wrist or ankle band, and personalise with emergency information to ensure your loved one feels safe and loved whenever they’re out training.
(aka Sports [Deep Tissue] Massage)
This is a great option, especially if your triathlete has been training through the winter. A sports massage can really help expel any aches and pains, plus is a great stress reliever for any negative energy or anxiety. If you’re based in Brighton, we recommend Studio57 or if you think they’d benefit from either a physio session or acupuncture, then call the Blue Koala.

(aka fresh baselayers)
What gets their heart racing? The prospect of wearing new kit out on the bike. In the cold weather, you can never have too many base layers — potentially wearing two in one session if you like to switch to a dry one at the cafe. Our favourite, sexy, base-layers are from Morvelo. *If you really want to treat them, buy them a base layer as part of a bundle.

Of course, you also have the option of booking them a Got To Tri Camp — or if you are prioritising yourself this Valentines, why not book yourself a trip to Mallorca, or even an entry into the Brighton and Hove Triathlon by clicking here - you never know who you’ll meet… ❤️
