GO TRI Training Days

Get involved with GO TRI with British Triathlon and Brighton Tri Club and get yourself prepped and ready for The Sebamed Brighton and Hove Triathlon.

GO TRI’s are training events designed to boost confidence and embed knowledge before race day. They’re perfect for beginners, to refresh your memory or for those in need of a confidence boost.

This summer there will be three Open Water sessions and Transition practice to prepare you for our race.

 

GO TRI Open Water sessions

These sessions will cover the following:

  • How to get into and out of a wetsuit.

  • How to swim in a wetsuit

  • Swimming in the waves

  • Swimming in a group with other participants

  • Introduction to and top tips for transition

  • Getting comfortable in open water – special provision will be made for first time open water swimmers

  • Practice sighting to navigate an open water course

  • Learn how to turn around buoys

  • A Q+A sessions on participating in a triathlon

Location

The Lifeguard station on the beach, at West Pier, Kings Road, Brighton. You will be able to identify the Lifeguard station by its red windbreakers and coloured flags, there will also be a Red GO TRI Flag positioned about 200m east of the Peace Statue and 300m west of the derelict West Pier.  The nearest landmark is the bandstand.

 

GO TRI Transition Practice

The session is designed to cover, bike and run activities, so by the end of the session you will have the skills and knowledge to participate in your first triathlon!

Skills you will learn include:

  • Bike Skills

  • Run Drills

  • Transition Practice

  • You will need to bring your bike and Helmet.

Day Information

The session will be delivered in the safe traffic free environment of the Velodrome within the BRI TRI club session. BRI TRI coaches will be there to guide you through the daunting task of 'Transition'. There will be plenty of time to practice and ask lots of questions to the experienced coaches.

The GO TRI sessions will be delivered by British Triathlon qualified coaches from Brighton Triathlon Club

Skills School Training Days for Children

Working in conjunction with British Triathlon Skills School participants of the Children's Triathlon are welcome to take part in a swim training exercise taking place on the 1st September on the beach by Hove Lawns.

Our friends at Zone3 and The Tri Store have joined forces to provide you with wetsuit hire from now until the end of September at an absolute steal of £40 (plus £86 refundable deposit).
